About Us

Ken and Lydia Strange have been photographing extensively since 1998 and have been involved on their great photographic adventure together since 2001. Their skills and creative styles were honed by studying under such photographic masters as Darrell Gulin, Art Wolfe, Vincent Versace, John Paul Caponigro, George Lepp, John Shaw and Andre Gallant to name but a few. Their works have been acknowledged by the receipt of many awards and images showcasing their uniquely creative styles have been seen in many juried art shows throughout the state of Washington. The Stranges currently have an ongoing presence in three northwest art galleries and their works are also marketed on the web, at art shows and the annual Western Washington State Fair in Puyallup. As Strange Images, Ken and Lydia attempt to share their photographic passions by continuing to develop and show new techniques and styles for what they call their expressionistic photographic art. They work at photographing all facets of light hopeful that others will somehow feel the emotion, appreciate the artistic quality, acquire knowledge and/or be culturally enlightened by it. Most recently with the formation of the Gulin/Strange Photography Workshops, Ken & Lydia are co-workshop leaders teaching their unique blend of photography and art along side of world famous Canon's Explorer of Light Photographer Darrell Gulin.
